OnePlus 3 allow the user to enable its Wi-Fi tethering feature and turn it into Wi-Fi mobile hotspot. You can enable this feature so other people around you can connect to it and browse the internet conveniently.
So, how do you setup your phone as mobile hotspot? You need to subscribe to Wi-Fi hotspot service to use this feature and then just follow the step by step guide below:
- If your Wi-Fi feature is still on, you need to turn it off first from notification bar or from Settings.
- After that, go to Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot > Portable Wi-Fi hotspot. This should turn the Wi-Fi hotspot on.
- Before you start to connect other device with your phone, you need to setup the Wi-Fi connection first. Go to setup Wi-Fi Hotspot to set the whole thing. There are several things to work on, start with Network SSID (the name of your Wi-Fi network), Security (it is highly recommended to use WPA2 as the most secure security type), and Password (use something unique that only you can remember).
- Tap “Save” to save the setup and your OnePlus 3 is ready to use.
To start connect other device with your phone, make sure the Wi-Fi connection is on, and then choose the name of the network SSID of yours and enter the right password. If you do it correctly, then the other device should be able to connect immediately.
If there is problem while trying to make connection, re-check the whole information once again. Make sure that the whole part from network name, security type and password has been entered correctly before give it one more try.
