Fastboot Mode on Nexus 6P – Do you love to do some modifications on your device? Do you want to perform special actions such as side load OTA update on your device manually? If that is the case, then you really need to know where you can do it.
You can’t do those things from regular mode, because regular mode is the places where you operate the device and using the app to do things that you need to do and not to make changes, especially critical changes on your phone.
The best places to do it are on fastboot mode. You may know this special mode by its other name, bootloader mode. Both are the same things do don’t you think that those are two different mode. When you enter fastboot mode, you even will find an option stated “Reboot Bootloader”.
If you think that this option will bring you to another mode, then you misunderstood it. This option will only bring you back to the same fastboot mode once again, where it will be useful if you finished with certain actions and want to do another action in the fastboot mode while making sure that the previous actions has take effect.
The basic of booting your Nexus 6P to this special fastboot mode is not so different from other device. First thing that you need to do is power OFF your device completely. This is a must, or you will never be able to enter fastboot mode. When the device has turned off, follow these steps:
- Press and hold two buttons in the same time, which is Power button and Volume Down button. Make sure to do it the right way by pressing both buttons in the same time.
- If you do it correctly, after several seconds you will see Fastboot Mode screen. It means that you succeed in booting your device to this special mode and now you can release those buttons.
That is all. In no time you already enter fastboot mode and this is where the real action took place. In this mode, you can only use physical button of Volume Up and Down to navigate through the available option. If you already find the option of action to do, just press Power button to choose it and let the process begin.
Boot into fastboot mode is easy and simple. The steps that you are going to take next is the one that could be pretty complicated and make sure you know what you are doing if you don’t want to mess up the system. Just get the whole thing done and you can boot back into regular mode. To do this, you can find the “Reboot” option on the menu, where you can choose it to bring you back to the normal regular mode.
You also can press Power button for several seconds where it will force the system to power down and naturally it will boot back to its regular mode. Just practice on it and when time has come, you can easily boot your Nexus 6P to fastboot mode to perform the necessary action.
